This patient wanted to give a testimonial for any patient who may be concerned about having an awake, in-office surgery. His message? It didn't hurt.
Dr. Skarada:
You remember talking about the day of the procedure, and he had a big sinus surgery done. I won't mention my patient's name, but he had lots of stuff done. Didn't he not?
Unkown:
Oh, yeah! A lot!
Dr. Skarada:
And the day of the procedure, we were talking about what it was like! What was that like?
Patient:
Well, I was pretty well zonked out by the time I got in here. I drove to the outskirts of Dallas, and then my wife drove the rest of the way because I had – having taken that medication on the trial, I knew what was coming to. By the time I got here, I was ready to go to sleep, basically. And, so. When I went into the room, I anticipated maybe reading until I was drowsy. I didn't need to read. I just laid back, and lights were turned off, and it was nice and cool, and I just kind of prepared myself and don't remember a thing until afterwards.
Dr. Skarada:
That is perfect. There were no IVs, correct?
Patient:
Right. No IVs.
Dr. Skarada:
Just two or three pills, right?
Patient:
Yep.
Dr. Skarada:
And what was your experience? This is his wife.
Spouse:
I had a great time.
Dr. Skarada:
Yeah?
Spouse:
I got to watch everything.
Dr. Skarada:
Yeah?
Spouse:
And it was very fascinating–
The remainder of her testimonial was cut short. I apologize. Technical difficulties.
