At the Modern Nose Clinic, we share patient testimonials to help you with your decision. In this particular testimonial, the patient had an awake in-office nasal surgery and wanted to make sure folks understand what to expect in regards to pain.
Dr. Skarada:
Okay. So, this is Dr. Douglas Skarada, medical director at the Modern Nose Clinic, and this is one of my patients. I won't use his name, but he had an awake in-office surgery. We did a septoplasty, and turbinate procedure, and so on, and so forth. And he also has a medical background, as it turns out. And he's heard all the stories. I was wondering if you can share with us – what was the pain like?
Patient:
There was no pain. Believe it or not. The surgery went well. There's – you can obviously feel the procedure going on in your nose, but during the procedure, and especially after the procedure – when it really counts, in your recuperating, there's no pain.
Dr. Skarada:
And, so. You had your surgery on a Friday? When did you feel like you were able to get back to doing normal things like driving your car, or maybe going to work – you know?
Patient:
Easily, within – I'd say, for me – two days. I took an extra day off because I have that time available, so I went back to work on Tuesday. But, yeah. You can be up and pretty much doing what you want to within two days. Easy. I would say.
Dr. Skarada:
That's really helpful because sometimes patients hear this from us, and they're not sure if it's completely accurate. There have been patients in medicine who have been told certain things, and it's not quite the way they've been told. So, it's gonna be helpful for some patients to hear your story. Thank you for sharing that. Appreciate it.
Patient:
You're welcome. You can do it.
Dr. Skarada:
Thank you.
